The Audace can be picked out immediately by its front end, stylistically “lighter” thanks to the circular headlight unit and the (real) carbon mudguard mounted on a fork without coverings. There are several other new features that contribute to enhance the muscular character of this bike: like the oil cooler air-scoop, the metallic radiator grill and the brand new total-black short megaphone exhaust. Also all chrome plating has been eliminated, and every mechanical detail and each exposed metallic part has been blacked-out. The platform floorboards and rocker gear shift pedal mounted on all the other models in the range have been replaced by sportier footpegs mounted further forward with a classic gear shifter pedal. Particular attention was given to the saddle, covered in “faux leather” with exposed red stitching, lowered in terms of the seating position and installation ready for the foldaway passenger seat. The drag handlebar is also new which, thanks to the forward position of the footpegs and the different seating height, create a longer and more dominating riding position, compared to the California Custom. Other stylistic changes to contribute to a more aggressive look can be found in the details: the burnished valve covers, the rear shock absorbers with separate gas reservoir, the light alloy wheels personalized with the Moto Guzzi logo and the minimal black mirrors. Powerful and aggressive, the Audace looks as if it is crouched down on its haunches like a large feline ready to unleash its explosive power on the asphalt, leaving the marks of its oversize 200/65 rear tire. With a lower setup thanks to the new sixteen inch spoke wheels that mount whitewall tyres (130/90 on the front and 180/65 on the rear), attention is drawn to the new wraparound mudguards. The front has a particularly “clean” design which enhances the powerful front end, whereas the rear, on the other hand, is the element that draws the most attention on this ultra elegant Moto Guzzi. Its smooth and generous shape integrates with the new full cover shock absorbers, the gem-shaped rear light cluster and the classic rounded turn indicators.At the front the Eldorado, like the Touring and Custom models, is also distinguishable by its original complex surface headlight with polyelliptical light equipped with LED daylight running light (DRL). Speaking of digital technologies, the instrumentation is particularly satisfying, contained in a 150 mm diameter circular panel with the analogue rev counter scale finding its place along the external circumference and a multifunction full-matrix suspended display at the centre, all packaged neatly, like a luxury watch, in a bright chromium housing.
The new V7 II range raises the bar in terms of safety and standard equipment and riding comfort.V7 II Racer completes the V7 II range, boasting a completely new stunning graphic. Moto Guzzi Centro Stile has exclusive developed this graphic for the North American Market; as a result this graphic carries the evocative “Racer America” name. This special model is manufactured in limited edition (1/1000) as indicated by the celebratory aluminum plate located on the upper steering yoke. V7 II is now safer thanks to the standard dual channel Continental ABS system and traction control (Moto Guzzi Controllo Trazione) and more enjoyable to ride thanks to a new 6 speed gearbox. The revised engine position and improved ergonomics have greatly enhanced riding comfort. Seat is now lower at 31.1 inches – 790 mm as opposed to the previous 31.6 in – 805mm, also the footpegs have been lowered to make room for taller riders. The new riding position lets the rider enjoy the full benefits of the changes that have been made to the chassis which have made the front end more precise and efficient. All these improvements contribute to fully meet expectations in terms of aesthetics and riding pleasure.
The name V9 Bobber evokes concepts such as essentiality of line, purity of design and thus a certain original sportiness, underlined by a total matt black look. Moto Guzzi’s custom sports bike effectively creates the mid-size bobber series segment, in which the V9 ??is currently the only representative. Bobbers appeared in the United States after World War II, created by passionate riders who stripped away all details superfluous to their goal of running fast on dirt tracks. To compete in these conditions the riders used to mount oversized tyres, giving the bikes a wide footprint. Following this style, the V9 Bobber abandons all chrome plating and glossy finishes for matt black details. The side panels and fuel tank are pitch black, with just a few graphic details in yellow or matt red. The exhaust unit, mirrors and both metal mudguards are painted in dark matt. The mudguard has been carefully shortened and reduced in size to make a big contribution to the minimal look of the V9 Bobber as well as housing a very compact optical unit. The 16-inch matt black rims are finely decorated with a grey Moto Guzzi logo and fit larger tyres (130/90 front, 150/80 rear). Even with these spectacular tyres and its distinctive design, the bike still provides exceptional riding pleasure and handling. Indeed the V9 Bobber is a true Moto Guzzi, and as such does not trade rideability for beauty. The V9 Bobber also differs from the V9 Roamer with its more crouched and sporty riding position, due to the low drag bar painted black and the long saddle. The ground clearance of the latter is only 30.3 in (770 mm), and if you add to this the exceptionally low kerb weight of 438 lbs. (199 Kg), you can easily imagine the level of comfort, control and rider pleasure offered by the V9 Bobber.NEW 850 TWIN-CYLINDER MOTO GUZZI ENGINEThe V9 Roamer and the V9 Bobber have a new power unit, as usual built at the Moto Guzzi plant in Mandello del Largo. This is of course a 90° transverse V-twin air and oil cooled engine, a set-up used in all current Moto Guzzi engines, albeit with different engine capacities and performance, which provides excellent riding dynamics and a unique sound.
